Even though Tom doesn’t talk much, he has a lot to say, and has become an inspirational writer.
 
“This is the story of myself, a person with autism who is realtively non verbal, with a history of severe violence, and how I made significant changes in my life, even though middle aged.”
 
In 2003 Tom wrote and published his book, “Caught Between Two Worlds,” about his experiences living with autism, using facilitated communication (a communication technique used by trained staff). He has also contributed to a published collection of other such writings.
